Hamilton Central Business Association work closely with Hamilton City Council and are on many working groups helping to make our city environment a clean and safe place.
City Cleaning
Hamilton City Council cleaning contractors work early hours of the morning to clean the CBD streets but occasionally people still turn up to work to find a mess outside their business that happens after the contractor has been through doing their clean, given they have such a large footprint to cover.
Should this happen there is an option to call Council Customer Services on 07 838 6699 and there will be a response to the clean-up within an hour in the CBD.
The City Safe Operations Team work together to ensure that Hamilton is a safe and vibrant City. The Team work in the Central City, The Transport Centre and suburban retail areas. They are recognisable by their highly visual uniforms which provide a natural deterrent to anti social and criminal activity. Camera Operators work diligently to spot issues within the Central City and ensure that City Safe Patrols, Police or Ambulance are dispatched when issues escalate. The Camera Operators are in direct contact with the Police and provide footage of incidents for evidence when required.
The first priority of the Graffiti Technicians is to remove tagging from Council assets and every day they carry out a 'milk-run' of a scheduled list of Council property and parks. Following that, they travel to jobs reported through the 0800 TAGBUSTERS number (0800 824 287) or through our dedicated reporting email. 0800 TAGBUSTERS is Council's free-calling number for the public to report graffiti, 24/7.
