Fifa Women's World Cup qualifying tournament to be hosted by Hamilton and Auckland

Hamilton has been named as one of the co-hosts for the first-ever playoff tournament for the Fifa Women’s World Cup 2023.


Waikato Stadium, along with North Harbour Stadium, will host 10 teams in February that are vying for the final three qualifying spots for the World Cup tournament next July.

Hamilton mayor Paula Southgate said it will be “priceless for the city” especially the hospitality and accommodation sector recovering from Covid-19 ramifications.
