Waikato will shift to alert level 2 at midnight on Tuesday – a move that’s being celebrated as bold but necessary.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the Waikato community has largely managed to restrict the spread of Delta.
The decision to move Waikato out of alert level 3 step 2 was made by Cabinet on Monday afternoon.
